Fantasy, Animals – New designs for this week

Filed under: exprez news @ February 16, 2012 12:04 pm

The animals that we see all the time either on television or in reality are not as simple as they seem to be. Dogs, Snakes, Spiders, Butterflies etc, are seen as what they appear to be with normal human eyes. In our dreams we may have imagined them as something they are not ..!

We at exprez.in have once again done what we are best at! This time we have presented a new range of designs, which includes animals we have seen, heard or talked about in general but with a twist. Dogs in their never-seen-before avatar, they are fierce and nothing less than tigers. The dogs that we have created, won’t just bark or bite but will scare you out of your wits.

These designs creates a fusion of wilderness and fantasy. The concepts of angels and demons have been created in such a way to match your taste and style, with the new age angels and the irresistible baddie. While butterflies have been kept their usual pretty self, though with a grey shade to their being, mermaids have been given a dark shade.

Exprez.in’s current themes of fantasy and  animals is another attempt to break free from the usual and give a new vision about what has always been plain sight. Hope you like what we have attempted to put forward through these designs.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and love birds all across the country and abroad plan to do something special to make this a memorable affair for their beloved ones.  Love is surely in the air, and people will make the most of it. Valentine’s Day has usually been synonymous with cards, flowers (roses in particular), chocolates, and expensive dinners or pampering for the loved ones. This Valentine’s Day, dare to do something different through Exprez.in.

It’s possible that your valentine has perhaps guessed your plans for the V-Day. Why not try something different? Expressing your emotions through a T-shirt could be very different and cute! This doesn’t necessarily mean a Tee with a teddy or a heart with an arrow through it. It could be anything – maybe a picture of the two of you sharing a light moment, or one of your most memorable conversations or something that you’ve always wanted to share with your valentine but couldn’t gather courage for. So why not give it a try and make this valentine unique?

They say love is so strong of an emotion that one would go to any length to make loved ones happy.  And what better day to materialize this saying than on Valentine’s day. A T-Shirt with a picture of you and your valentine could be a very unique way of celebrating this day,  whether your valentine is your partner, friend, parent or even your pet!

There is no straight-jacketed method to confess your love. You can upload your designs or photos at our design studio  and we will print it on the T-shirt of your choice.

Let  your guard down this Valentine’s day, and celebrate your love through us. Rest assured that your personalized gift will bring a genuine smile to your beloveds.

Brand new designs – Skull Galore!

Pirates in the 1700s knew a thing or two about using imagery to scare sailors. They used flags emblazoned with a human skull and a pair of crossbones to send a clear message – “we mean business”! Some pirates even used customized skulls and bones to suggest that they were especially dangerous.

From flags waiving over troubled waters to t-shirts, the message conveyed by images of skulls has changed quite a bit. Skulls are not symbols of  menace any more, but rather they represent free spirit and fierce independence.

We are happy to launch our “1000 new designs” campaign by paying tribute to arguably the most visually appealing part of the human skeleton. The skull not only protects the grey matter, but reminds us about  equality, impermanence and the life beyond.

These remarkable designs bring skulls into focus. You can buy them as is or customize them with your own text. If you prefer window shopping, just remember to “like” them. In any case, check these designs and you will never look at skulls and t-shirts in the same way!

Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs.. The man behind many legendary products is a memory now. As people mourn his loss, it is good to remember what he stood for. He was driven by the belief that people with passion can change the world for better. He himself demonstrated a great deal of passion in creating products that will become essential part of our everyday life. He embraced simplicity and uniqueness, by thinking differently. After miraculously recovering from pancreatic cancer, he showed a sense of urgency to fulfill his mission of creating impossibly cool products.  Really, he was in a race against himself.

His products set off new industries, and destroyed old . He imagined how technology products should be designed. He was a power user of technology products. He coupled that with his visionary thinking and ability to execute flawlessly. He championed the products with the same vigor that he built them. He is being compared to great entrepreneurs like Edison and Henry Ford, but it is clear there is no contemporary parallel to him.

steve jobs

The products he unleashed, the passion he displayed and standards he set will continue to inspire the world. At the core of his monumental achievements, lies his passion and unique way of expressing his connection to the world – something all of us strive for.

As we appreciate his contributions, we are proud to give our own little tribute here..

Find your voice .. find your expression

unique you

In 1977, a young Psychology professor named Susan Krauss Whitbourne embarked on a ground breaking research project.  It involved 350 students and the purpose was to find an answer to one question. Can humans overcome self imposed restrictions and find happiness?

She questioned the participants every decade until she had forty years of data.  She then integrated the findings from the research with the Psychological theories of Fraud and Erikson to come out with an outstanding book - “The search for fulfillment”.

Based on the research, the book presents five different pathways that you could be in.

  • The meandering way – you are unable to settle on a clear set of goals and a way to achieve those goals
  • The straight and narrow way – you prefer routines over taking risk or questioning norms
  • The downward slope – you seem to have it all, until one or two poor decisions send your life into a downward spiral
  • The triumphant trail – your inner resilience has allowed you to overcome the significant challenges that could have left you despondent
  • The authentic road - you continuously take  a bold and honest look at yourself and take risks to get back on track

Not surprisingly, people who found the authentic road were also the most fulfilled.  They made changes to express their innermost selves.   Many Psychologists consider the ability to express our true selves  as the heart of favorable adaptation.

The best form of expression comes when we find our unique voice. As a matter of fact, each of us is unique and it is a matter of finding our uniqueness.  So how do we find our authentic road?

It takes courage and honesty to look at ourselves. The people who find the authentic road value a little experimentation over the control of stability.

This relates to the quality Psychologists call as “initiative”; which is  “the enjoyment of exercising your mind, directing others and enjoying flights of fancy”.  We develop it during pre-shcool, but as we get older, our creative impulses get more restricted. The ability to express our creativity is the result of our trust in ourselves.

The book has a positive message because it promises that you could choose to take any of these pathways at any time of your life.  It’s never late to be authentic. Celebrate your uniqueness, develop the courage to be different and take pride in it!

Next time, you feel the urge to shake the status quo or express yourself in a different way, don’t hold back. May be that’s where you will find your unique expression which could make a dent in the universe.

Your own 2010

create your own 2010

There are many words to describe 2009 – change, meltdown, iPhone, cloud, Copenhagen to name a few.  No single characterization can do justice to capture a full year, but a couple of trends were relevant to us.

Participation

We saw enormous advances in mass participation. There are two waves moving in parallel – ubiquitous technology that makes mass participation easy, and willingness of people to try them. Even though the economic meltdown put many people out of jobs,  content creation has been phenomenal, whether in the form  of wikis, iPhone apps, blogs, tweets or Facebook updates. Technologies introduced by companies like Apple and Google are quite revolutionary and we have not yet fully seen the ramifications. In the coming years we will see accelerated participation and breakdown of many barriers.

Definition of value

The definition of value has changed. Media companies appeared to be the immediate victims. Moving atoms is still a great business but probably not for very long.  More and more value is being given to creators and idea makers, which we believe is a good thing.

As we look forward, the general sense is that politics and economy will be in turmoil for many years to come. However, the positive trends are so strong that there is every possibility of a new type of economy emerging from the ashes.

We hope to see a 2010 that is defined by the following:

Doing

The real value is in creating products and services that solve pressing problems while bringing efficiency to the system by eliminating wastage. Community participation and delegation to masses will be central. Almost 100 years back Gandhi pushed this vision through a simple “Charka”. Now we have hundreds of technologies that resemble the “Charka ” and provide power to masses. Diffusion of these technologies will be a key challenge and opportunity.

Connecting

It is not only about creating products but also about connecting with a larger community. This requires sharing and openness. Technology could help here. However, personal conviction and passion of entrepreneurs and business leaders will be most important.

Meaning

The era of blind consumption may be over. People want meaning and relevance for the products that they use. They want to give their personal touch instead of consuming products churned out from giant factories.  Beyond functionality, products will be used to express and connect to ourselves.

We are excited about the new thinking, technologies and preferences that are emerging. Our commitment for 2010 is to align ourselves with the bigger trends, while listening and communicating with our customers. Most importantly we will deliver on promises.

On design – Sunil Patil

Sunil Patil’s designs are cool, funny and sometimes thought provocative. See his designs here. Sunil answers “5 questions” posed by exprez.in.

What is the most exciting thing about creating designs for T-Shirts?
T-shirts are a very unique medium for art. That is, art worn on one’s body! This is what thrills me the most.

What makes your designs unique?
I don’t stick to any one particular style of designing. I like bringing a great variety of styles into my designs. Every design I create is all by itself. This is the uniqueness of my designs, I feel.

Whats your favorite theme for designs?
The list is virtually endless! The most favorite theme is ‘Pop Culture’.

Where do you look for inspiration while creating designs?
I find inspiration for my designs from the whole diversity of life around me. Then I get into a sort of day-dreaming state (literally lying on the bed), that’s when the actual design idea emerges!

How can user community of a web site can help you to create exceptional designs?
The user community could indeed be a great source of ideas and inspirations. This community serves as a bridge between the end user and the designer. It is about bringing design ideas a lot closer to what the end user desires.
